As flinging shoes at dignitaries in protest is becoming popular with scribes the world over, I feel the journo community must come up with a code of conduct for this act.
May I make a few suggestions…
1. The shoes must be new, just like fresh flowers.
2. The shoes must be of the size that would fit the target.
3. The scribe must not throw only one shoe but the pair.
4. After throwing the shoes, the protestor must also hand over the bill to the “recipient” in case he wants to exchange the shoes.
5. After a few days, the thrower must call the “recipient” to find out if the shoes are comfortable. After all only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches.
Shoe protesters ki jai ho.
